The position will require hands-on laboratory work, project responsibilities and oversight of the development activities at other sites/external contract research organizations.

The candidate must have a proven track record of addressing problems in frozen liquid, liquid in vial or pre-filled syringe and lyophilized antibody formulations. Responsibilities include leading the formulation and drug product process development group efforts at Chennai (India) in development and optimization of formulations through efficient formulation studies, characterization of drug product process unit operations, primary container evaluation, and execution of stability studies and characterization of protein degradation pathways with the goal of developing a better understanding of stabilization mechanisms.

The successful candidate will develop strong partnerships with groups in bioanalytical, drug product manufacturing and delivery device groups. In addition, the candidate will be required to provide technical support for regulatory submissions of biologic drug products.

The position does require designing and optimizing various formulation and filling unit operations including freeze/thaw, mixing, sterile filtration, vial and syringe filling and lyophilization, and overseeing the execution of pilot to commercial scale fill/finish manufacturing process. The position will be reporting at Chennai, India.
