Liaison with custom, port authorities, forwarders, shippers, and related organizations externally. Main Responsibilities include:Import Export Officer will be placed at our Konnagar works and would be working in the Logistics department, reporting directly to the Logistics Manager.

Import Export Officer would be coordinating with procurement and planner on requirement, scheduling, ordering and cargo clearance of various raw materials and other goods. She/He would also be responsible for assisting in development of new external and internal process aiming at the objective of meeting company objectives at timely and cost effective Import and Export processing etc.

Import Export Officer would place import orders and do tracking of consignments.Import Export Officer would also be arranging exports to other countries with necessary formalities.

He/ She must be up-to-date on regulatory changes and adapt appropriately and responsible for reducing costs as well, and negotiate ocean freight rates.Import/export officer need to be up to update on the procedures for receiving and delivering goods both nationally and internationally.

They should have knowledge of world economy and customs documentation.Maintain and file records/ documents related to Imports and Exports for audits and verifications.

At least two years of experience in import and export regulations is a plus. Bilingual coordinators are in high demand.

Additionally, the candidate should be possess the below: Use personal judgment and initiative to develop effective and constructive solutions to challenges and obstacles in import/export activity and procedures.Monitor, record, analyse and report on activities, trends, results and recommendations relating to import/export activities.

Manage multiple tasks at the same time, ability to prioritize.Anticipate research and report on future changes in import/export laws and in relevant local territory practices, and ensure such knowledge is factored into the planning of the department's own strategy, resources and procedures.

Plan and implement import/export strategy and activities consistent with overall aims and requirements of the organization.Qualifications: The minimum qualifications the candidate will have include: Import Export Officer should be a Graduate in science with a minimum of 3-6 years of relevant experience of Import / Export in logistics or procurement department in any organization.

Diploma in Materials Management or a foreign trade is desirable.Sound knowledge of hazardous and non-hazardous cargo clarification and shipment rules.
